Contentment

Don't Let Comparison Steal your Contentment
                                                                                                                                          Kelly Oribine

How much time each day do we waste in comparing and judging?
Our life to our friend's life.
Our home to those on TV
Our bodies to photos in magazines.
Our worth to our accomplishments.

How often does the score seem to be us 4 them 10?

What if we could lay down the measuring stick, unweight the scale, and declare the contest over for lack of interest and participation?

Really, we all have enough and are enough.
We just need to remind ourselves.
We need to pause in those moments of contentment and be grateful.

Everyone has challenges, whether we see their struggles or not.
TV and magazines are entertainment, rarely reality.
Our fundamental goodness has nothing to do with our doingness.

Judging and comparing are mental clutter.
Let them go.
(It will take practice; just like making your bed everyday or sorting the mail or always putting your keys in the same place)

You decide.

Good bye Justin

Saying good bye to Justin.

Yes, it really is time to say good bye.
He’s taken up far too much space in your life and home for far too long.

Clothes you’re keeping ‘Just in Case’ you change sizes.
(How old/unfashionable/out of style is that jacket anyway?)
Sports equipment “just in Case’ you decide to go skiing again.
(Not sure those bindings are even safe anymore)
Craft supplies “Just in Case’ you decide to finish that knitting project.
(As if you could ever unravel that knotted up skein of ugly yarn)

Paper for scrapbooking, ingredients for food you’ll never prepare, receipts and paperwork that you can access on line, gifts you never cared for, books you’ll never read, shoes you’ll never wear again.

It’s true, it will be necessary for you to take an honest look at how you really spend your time, which activities are important to you, and where do you want to invest your time and energy.
Remember:  That was then.  This is now.

Stop letting Justin Case decide what you need to keep.
Take control of the spaces in your home, and the decisions about what has real use and value in the life you truly want to be living.

Trust that you have the resources to get what you need, if and when you need it.

End your relationship with Justin Case and see how much more space you have in your life and home.

It’s your choice.

Simplify your life in two steps.

Two steps to simplify your life:

1.  Identify what's most important to you.
2.  Eliminate everything else.
                                                       Leo Babuauta, Zen Habits

Whether it is the books on the shelf, the clothes in your closet, your commitments, your hair care products, or your hobby supplies:  Decide which of them are important to you, deserve your time, your  attention, and  are worthy of the space and energy they take up in your life.
Keep those; then donate, recycle, sell or toss the rest.

Choosing less gives you room for more.
It's your choice.
